Time passes by so quickly and I decided to catch up with some old friends before the Christmas mayhem kicks in. Yes I said it, the ‘C’ word.
We decided to try Bubbledogs in Central London. Who would have thought champagne and hot dogs would work?! It seems that they do!
A super tiny venue that does not accept bookings except for groups with a minimum of 6, but fortunately I had booked. We were all sat rather cosily in the corner and were rather glad that we knew each other well!
The menu supplied consists of an array of different types of gourmet hotdogs which can be created using pork, beef or vegetarian sausage.
We could choose from Sloppy Joe hotdogs, Russian hotdogs, Fourth of July hotdogs and even First-Date hotdogs, which consists of everything stinky that you probably would not want to eat on a first date! The list goes on. I chose the BLT hotdog which consisted of pork dog and bacon wrapped with caramelized lettuce and truffle mayo.
It was delicious! I could have eaten a second!
The choice of sides tots, sweet potato fries and coleslaw. I shared both tots and fries with my partner. Although there was no sauce with the fries, it wasn’t actually missed. They were crispy, lightly salted and full of flavour.
Whilst perusing the hotdog menu, we were given the drinks menu. The choice of champagnes is vast. For those of you that don’t like champagne you can select from beers, ciders, cocktails and a gorgeous black cherry soda which is my personal favourite.
The venue is tiny and the food is served up in plastic red baskets and paper but I actually really enjoyed this restaurant. It is casual but with an upmarket twist. A perfect place to catch up with friends and have a light bite. Get there early though as the queue to get in grows at lightning speed!
